30-ish Recipes I Have Been Meaning to Try
There must be other people out there in the world who clip recipes from magazines, paste them into a book that no longer closes, stuff them into file folders when we don't have the time, or neatly organize them in acid-free sheet protectors in three ring binders. People who love thrift stores for the cheap treasures of recipes long past with ingredients that make cardiologists cringe; whose first task when bringing home a new find, whether a freshly printed edition or one warped by age, water and smoke, is to grab some sticky tabs, bloop down in a comfy spot and mark all the dishes we want to make.
People who get a break from reality six months later to find that there is a big jumble of ideas and projects and "When I get a moment, I am going to master this...", or "I will create this beautiful dish, when I am not chasing around the chaos that is my life." That's what my life feels like most of the time. So now I am going to make myself more accountable for all the "want to/could do/when I/love to ... BUT" lines I have told myself and actually do something. Isn't that what life is really about? The doing, the experiences and the epic failures you can laugh about! (Trust me, I know how to make gruel from soup and a gagging glazed sauce!)
So here is a (growing) list of recipes (and links to their listings, when available) that I have flagged that I know I could accomplish without having to purchase any new cooking utensils or dishes. (Though I won't put off receiving any kitchen equipment as a gift!)
